Ear Infections (Otitis Media)
Ear infection (Otitis Media) is an infection of the middle ear, and is most often a bacterial or viral infection. The inflammation and buildup of fluids causes the ear infection to be very painful.
Signs and symptoms of ear infections:
- Ear pain, tugging at ear
- Difficulty sleeping
- Behavior changes especially in children, i.e. crying, acting more irritable or loss of appetite
- Difficulty hearing
- Fever of 100 F or higher
- Drainage from the ear
- Headache
