Ear tube insertion (myringotomy) is when our physicians, Dr. Lesley Soine, and Dr. Kyle Johnson, make a tiny incision in the tympanic membrane or ear drum to allow for fluid drainage so the ears can function normally. This procedure is typically done as an outpatient surgical procedure in Fargo or Carrington, ND.
Our physicians typically use a surgical microscope to place a tiny tube in the incision to keep it open and allow for ventilation. After the procedure the patient is monitored and if there are no problems or complications the patient is sent home the same day.
